If you looked closely enough, you could see that her hair was made of starlight. The constellations in the sky were from the trail she left behind, a glittering remnant of her presence. Perhaps the soft glow that sometimes illuminated the night sky was sign that she was there.
Rem closed one eye and peered into a dream, her hands a picture frame. She could see in a snapshot the peace that her power brought to the world. But honestly, she just liked playing with her sheep.

Rem stood in the middle of her herd, her celestial shepherd’s crook held firmly in her hand. Her eyes, though perpetually sleepy, were wise. She stood there in the wide expanse of cloud- no, sheep- no, cloud sheep! She was surrounded by many friends.
With a flick of her wrist, Rem summoned the clouds to land for the children who could not sleep. As the children drifted off into the dreamland, they counted the sheep who served as companions now in the loneliness of the dark.
